Markus Alexej Persson introduces Bitshift Entertainment, a new game development studio. Taking to Twitter, the developer stated that they are hard at work on their debut project, which is characterized as a classic rogue like game from the first-person perspective. Markus Persson, aka Notch, has astonished everyone by establishing a new studio called Bitshift Entertainment. For the time being, there are few details, although the creator of Minecraft has confirmed the following.

He mentioned that they are working on a game with voxel visuals and roguelike aspects. The game is characterized as a first-person roguelike/dungeon crawler influenced by Borderlands and Diablo.

Furthermore, Persson gave fans a sneak peek into the game’s development process by sharing a screenshot from an early build. While the project is presently known as Levers and Chests, Notch revealed that the game will use the Pinky Demon model from Voxel Doom as adversaries and will incorporate textures from multiple sources for the floor, walls, and ceiling.

Although details about the game’s release date and compatible platforms are unknown, the gaming community is abuzz with excitement and speculation about Bitshift Entertainment’s future efforts.

The creator of Minecraft has formed a new business, Bitshift Entertainment.

Markus Persson, widely known as Notch, announced the opening of his new firm, Bitshift Entertainment, via social media. She is developing a voxel “bagel” that incorporates loot shooter aspects. Persson once built Minecraft, although he has not been involved with the game for a long time.

In 2014, Microsoft paid $2.5 billion for his Mojang studio. After Minecraft, he worked on several other projects, but he did not release all of them. Bitshift Entertainment is not Persson’s first studio after Mojang. He and his Mojang colleague Jakob Porsér founded the Rubberbrain studio in 2015, although they never launched. Almost nothing is known about Bitshift Entertainment, including its location and the number of employees (if additional developers beside Persson work there).

The Minecraft creator only revealed the studio’s name, showed its logo, and verified that it is working on an undisclosed game, screenshots of which he recently posted. Persson said the game will be similar to Borderlands, with a d20 role-playing system based on Dungeons & Dragons. It will have a first-person perspective, and players will be able to explore the dungeons with swords and other unique weaponry.

The game is still in the early stages of development. Person revealed that he temporarily took models of some monsters from Doom mods because his team currently lacks an artist. “The texture on the walls is also a plug. And maybe everything else. It’s still quite raw.

But, once again, I purposefully turned the Minecraft UI grey to irritate the future me and then restored it to normal. But this interface has caught on,” says Persson.
