Pros of shopping at Costco Business Centers
Shopping at these Costco corporate centers offers several significant advantages. These perks were intended for small business owners and their employees, but there is no reason you should not take advantage of them as well.
1.No crowds.
These commercial areas typically have substantially less foot traffic because business owners typically bring large basket sizes (almost three times larger!). Furthermore, delivery accounts for half of the overall sales volume; therefore, these people are rarely seen in stores. Because small businesses do not want to deal with the consumer traffic in the warehouse, checkout line, and parking lot of a typical Costco, these establishments are designed to be lightweight and easy to manage. As a result, the business centers receive one-seventh to one-eighth of the traffic that a conventional Costco does.
2.Faster checkout times.
Fewer people are shopping. Therefore, checkout times are shorter. Furthermore, business customers do not have time to deal with long checkout lines; thus, Costco tries to keep these lines moving swiftly
3.Parking is easier and quicker at costco business center.
Few people visit these commercial centers, so parking is much easier to find. Small business owners don’t have time to drive around looking for parking, so Costco makes sure there’s always enough space for them near the store’s entrance to reduce walking time and effort.
4.Opens earlier.
These business centers open up much earlier in the morning to meet the demands of small business owners. Great if you’re a morning type of person. Because small businesses require more flexible hours to accommodate their business schedules, the Business Center opens at 8:00 a.m. It closes at 6:00 p.m., as opposed to a typical Costco, which opens at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 8:30 p.m.
Cons of shopping at Costco Business Centers
Unfortunately, shopping at these business centers isn’t all rosy. There are also a few disadvantages to consider.
1.Closes early on weekdays.
These business centers open much earlier in the morning (8 a.m.) but close as early as 6 p.m. on weekdays, which correspond to conventional business hours. In contrast, conventional Costco warehouse clubs remain open until 8:30 p.m. to appeal to the after-work crowd.
2.We are closed on Sundays.
This is a major letdown because it is when we usually go shopping. But you shouldn’t go to a regular Costco on Sundays either (the crowds are wild!), so plan your Costco business center visits for weekdays or Saturdays. (Saturday hours of operation are 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). If you exclusively shop for food on Saturdays, the business centers are a significant advantage because the crowds are much larger at the regular Costco.
3.There may not be equivalent sales or discounts.
I’m not sure if the monthly sales advertised in the Costco marketing pamphlet, which we receive every month, apply to these business locations. If you have any information, please share it in the comments section. As a result, you may pay too much for a few things.
4.A smaller liquor/alcohol assortment.
Bummer, especially considering Costco’s alcohol is so inexpensive. We’re not really concerned because we don’t buy or use alcohol.
5.Reduced the catalog.
The business centers may not stock all of the things you would find at a conventional Costco. Commonly absent items at business centers include apparel, books, movies, electronics, alcohol, toys, gardening/yard supplies, furniture, kayaks, shoes, bedding, home decor, and delis. There is no clothing, jewelry, sporting goods, CDs, or seasonal items.
There are missing departments. Costco Business Centers additionally differ in that they do not include all of the ancillary departments found in typical Costco warehouses, such as pharmacies, optical or hearing aid services, photo labs, bakeries, tire shops, and so on. They do have a Print Shop, though. They occasionally miss the Food Court, but fortunately, the business center near my San Francisco apartment has it. Costco’s business centers are less likely to
A strong emphasis on unhealthy snacks and beverages. You have been warned. The entire central area of the Costco business center is loaded with various types of unhealthy snacks, candies, and drinks, most likely catering to convenience store owners and vending machine operators. If you come here without a shopping list, or if you lose the discipline to keep to your list, you may slip into a massive trap. If you are the type of person who cannot stick to a shopping list, it may be a good idea to carry only cash.
6.Different layout.
Because they sell various things not found in your typical warehouse club (such as industrial cooking utensils and cleaning supplies), the business centers have a unique structure to appeal to business merchants and their demands. As a result, your things may not be in the typical locations. So it will take a few weeks to get used to.

Costco Business does not sell numerous wholesale items, such as jewelry, books, clothing, and personal devices. Some of the 30% of things sold by both stores may be less expensive at the Business Center Warehouses. You can compare rates online.
Is it worth a visit?
Whether a trip to the Costco Business Center is worthwhile depends on your buying requirements. If you are a business owner or someone who frequently requires huge amounts of things, it is an invaluable resource. Savings and convenience can have a big impact on your operations or event planning budget.
For the typical customer, the appeal may be more situational. If you’re planning a huge event or routinely host large groups, the Business Center can provide amazing savings and a one-stop shopping experience. However, a standard Costco warehouse may be more convenient for every day buying needs.
In conclusion, the Costco Business Center is an excellent choice for people who may benefit from its bulk offers and low prices. It’s worth checking out, especially if you’re near one, to see how it fits into your shopping pattern.
